द्रोणकर्णयोः निशि संप्रहारः — Night Engagement with Droṇa and Karṇa
मुमुचु: सूर्यरश्म्याभान् शतश: फाल्गुनं प्रति । उन कौरव-सैनिकोंने सर्पके शरीरके समान प्रतीत होनेवाली अपनी भुजाओंद्वारा धनुषोंको नवाकर अर्जुनपर सूर्यकी किरणोंके समान चमकीले सैकड़ों बाण छोड़े ।। ततस्तानस्यमानांश्व किरीटी युद्धदुर्मद:
mumucuḥ sūryaraśmyābhān śataśaḥ phālgunaṃ prati |
Sañjaya dit : Les soldats kauravas décochèrent par centaines des flèches flamboyantes comme les rayons du soleil, dirigées contre Phālguna (Arjuna). Bandant leurs arcs de bras qui semblaient des anneaux de serpents, ils le couvrirent d’une pluie de traits éclatants—image de l’élan farouche de la guerre, où vaillance et adresse sont mises au service de loyautés opposées.
