अध्याय १४६ — निशायां सात्यकिदुर्योधनयुद्धम् / Chapter 146 — Night Battle: Sātyaki and Duryodhana; Śakuni’s Encirclement of Arjuna
तेन वृष्णिप्रवीराणां चक्र न प्रतिहन्यते । अपि मेरुं वहेत् कश्चित् तरेद् वा मकरालयम् । नतु वृष्णिप्रवीराणां समेत्यान्तं व्रजेन्नप,इसीसे वृष्णिवीरोंका यह समूह किसीके द्वारा प्रतिहत नहीं होता है। नरेश्वर! कोई मेरुपर्वतको सिरपर उठा ले अथवा समुद्रको हाथोंसे तैर जाय; परंतु वृष्णिवीरोंके समूहका अन्त नहीं पा सकता
tena vṛṣṇipravīrāṇāṁ cakra na pratihanyate | api meruṁ vahet kaścit tared vā makarālayam | na tu vṛṣṇipravīrāṇāṁ sametyāntaṁ vrajen nṛpa ||
Sañjaya dit : «C’est pourquoi le dispositif de combat formé par les plus éminents héros des Vṛṣṇi ne peut être arrêté par quiconque. Un homme pourrait soulever le mont Meru, ou même traverser l’océan—demeure des makara—; mais, ô roi, après avoir affronté cette armée de champions vṛṣṇi, nul ne saurait en atteindre la fin.»
