This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal instruction: it teaches how the epic frames violent episodes within ordered textual units (parva/adhyāya) and moral causality—acts like the slaying of key warriors are presented as consequences of vows, duty, and the unfolding of fate within dharma-contested war.
The narrator Sañjaya signals the conclusion of the 140th chapter in the Droṇa Parva, specifically the episode about the killing of Alambuṣa, situated within the broader sub-section focused on the slaying of Jayadratha.
