Adhyāya 140: Rātriyuddhe Droṇa-prāpti-prayatnaḥ
Night engagement and the attempt to reach Droṇa
The verse highlights the intensity of kshatriya warfare and suggests an ethical reflection: when valor is fueled by enmity, it can become an indiscriminate storm of harm—powerful in form, yet morally perilous in consequence.
Sanjaya reports to the king that Karna and Bhima, both exceptionally strong and brave, are exchanging dense volleys of arrows, compared to two rain-clouds pouring down heavy rain.
