Rātri-yuddhe Droṇasya prahāraḥ — Bhīmasenasya dhārtarāṣṭra-śūrānām nigrahaḥ

तद युद्धमासीत् सुमहद् घोरं देवासुरोपमम् | द्रोणस्प च महाराज भीमस्य च महात्मन:,महाराज! द्रोणाचार्य तथा महामनस्वी भीमसेनका वह महान युद्ध देवासुर-संग्रामके समान भयंकर था
tad yuddham āsīt sumahat ghoraṃ devāsuro'pamam | droṇasya ca mahārāja bhīmasya ca mahātmanaḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Ce combat fut d’une immensité et d’une horreur extrêmes, pareil aux affrontements légendaires des dieux et des démons. Ô roi, la rencontre entre Droṇa et Bhīmasena au grand cœur prit une ampleur qui semblait dépasser la mesure humaine — image de la puissance écrasante de la guerre et du lourd fardeau moral porté par ceux qui la font.
