Yudhiṣṭhira’s reassurance and praise of Kṛṣṇa, Arjuna, Bhīma, and Sātyaki
त॑ जयन्तमनीकानि भारद्वाजं ततस्तत: । पाज्चालपुत्रो द्युतिमान् वीरकेतु: समभ्ययात्,इधर-उधर घूम-घूमकर समस्त सेनाओंको पराजित करते हुए द्रोणाचार्यका सामना करनेके लिये उस समय तेजस्वी पांचालराजकुमार वीरकेतु आया
taṁ jayantaṁ anīkāni bhāradvājaṁ tataḥ tataḥ | pāñcālaputro dyutimān vīraketuḥ samabhyayāt |
Sañjaya dit : Tandis que Bharadvāja (Droṇa) mettait en déroute, encore et encore, les formations de bataille, le prince resplendissant des Pāñcāla, Vīraketu, s’avança pour l’affronter—après avoir erré de-ci de-là en défaisant les troupes de tous côtés.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma: when one’s forces are repeatedly shattered, a capable warrior-leader should step forward to face the source of defeat directly, showing resolve and responsibility rather than yielding to confusion.
Droṇa is repeatedly defeating the opposing army formations. In response, the radiant Pāñcāla prince Vīraketu advances to meet Droṇa in battle, after moving about the field and overcoming troops on various sides.
