Sañjaya dit : «Se ruant droit sur moi, avec éléphants, chevaux, chars et fantassins, il fit résonner toutes les directions du tonnerre de son char—ô cocher.»
संजय उवाच
The verse emphasizes the overwhelming force and psychological impact of war—speed, massed arms, and the intimidating roar of chariots—highlighting how power is displayed and perceived on the battlefield rather than offering a direct moral injunction.
Sañjaya describes a combatant advancing rapidly straight toward him, accompanied by a full complement of troops (elephants, horses, chariots, infantry), and the chariot’s thunderous noise making all directions echo; he addresses the listener as “O charioteer.”
