शस्त्राणि च विचित्राणि क्रुद्धास्तत्र व्यदर्शयन् । छादयन्त: शरै: पार्थ मेघा इव दिवाकरम्,जैसे बादल सूर्यको ढक लेते हैं, उसी प्रकार बाणोंद्वारा कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनको आच्छादित करते हुए कुपित कौरव-सैनिक वहाँ विचित्र अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंका प्रदर्शन करने लगे
śastrāṇi ca vicitrāṇi kruddhās tatra vyadarśayan | chādayantaḥ śaraiḥ pārtha meghā iva divākaram ||
Sañjaya dit : Là, les guerriers kaurava, enflammés de colère, se mirent à déployer leurs armes et leurs traits aux formes variées. Ils couvrirent Pārtha (Arjuna) de volées de flèches, comme les nuages voilent le soleil, montrant que la fureur du combat ne cherche pas seulement à frapper, mais à submerger et à obscurcir la puissance de l’adversaire.
