वर्तमाने तथा रौद्रे संग्रामे भरतर्षभ । उभयो: सेनयो: शूरा नामृष्यन्त परस्परम्‌,भरतश्रेष्ठ] उस भयंकर संग्राममें दोनों सेनाओंके शूरवीर एक-दूसरेका उत्कर्ष नहीं सह सके

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | vartamāne tathā raudre saṅgrāme bharatarṣabha | ubhayoḥ senayoḥ śūrā nāmṛṣyanta parasparam |

Translation

Sañjaya dit : Ô taureau parmi les Bhārata, tandis que cette bataille farouche se poursuivait, les héros des deux armées ne pouvaient supporter l’ascendant l’un de l’autre ; chacun refusait de tolérer la supériorité adverse, et le choc s’en trouva encore aggravé.
