भीष्मशिबिरगमनम् — Duryodhana’s Visit to Bhīṣma’s Camp and the Command Appeal
ततः प्रत्यागतप्राणा: सर्वे ते सुबलात्मजा: । भूय: क्रोधसमाविष्टा इरावन्तमभिद्रुता:,तदनन्तर सुबलपुत्रोंमें प्राणशक्ति पुन: लौट आयी। अत: वे सब-के-सब सचेत होनेपर पुनः क्रोधमें भर गये और इरावानपर दौड़े
tataḥ pratyāgataprāṇāḥ sarve te subalātmajāḥ | bhūyaḥ krodhasamāviṣṭā irāvantam abhidrutāḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Alors, la vie et la vigueur revinrent à tous ces fils de Subala, qui reprirent connaissance. De nouveau saisis par la colère, ils se ruèrent droit sur Irāvān.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger (krodha) can reassert itself even after a momentary setback, pushing warriors back into violence. Ethically, it illustrates the Mahābhārata’s recurring warning that passion and vengeance eclipse judgment, intensifying suffering in war.
After being stunned or weakened, the sons of Subala recover their strength and consciousness. Immediately, they become enraged again and charge toward Irāvān to attack him on the battlefield.
