Chapter 89: Bhīma dispatched to protect Ghaṭotkaca amid escalating engagements
आर्या युद्धे मतिं कृत्वा न त्यजन्ति सम संयुगम् यथोत्साहं तु समरे निजघ्नुस्तावका रणे,राजन! उन दोनोंने युद्धमें अनेक प्रकारके अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंद्वारा आपके सैनिकोंका संहार करना आरम्भ किया। भरतश्रेष्ठ) उनके द्वारा समरमें मारे जाते हुए आपके सैनिक युद्धविषयक श्रेष्ठ बुद्धिका सहारा लेकर ही संग्राम छोड़कर भाग नहीं रहे थे। आपके योद्धा भी रफक्षेत्रमें पूर्ण उत्ताहके साथ शत्रुओंका संहार करते थे
sañjaya uvāca | āryā yuddhe matiṁ kṛtvā na tyajanti sama-saṁyugam | yathotsāhaṁ tu samare nijaghnus tāvakā raṇe, rājan |
Sañjaya dit : «Les guerriers nobles, ayant arrêté leur résolution pour la bataille, n’abandonnent pas l’affrontement à forces égales. Pourtant, ô roi, dans ce combat tes hommes étaient frappés et abattus sur le champ selon l’ardeur entière des assaillants. Même en tombant, tes soldats ne fuyaient pas la mêlée ; s’appuyant sur leur meilleur jugement, exercé par la guerre, ils tinrent bon, tandis que tes champions aussi, avec un zèle total sur le champ de bataille, continuaient de tuer l’ennemi.»
