Adhyāya 86: Irāvān’s Lineage, Cavalry Clash, and the Māyā-Duel Ending in Irāvān’s Fall
तेषां प्रववृते युद्ध सुमहललोमहर्षणम् । इरावांस्तु सुसंक़्रुद्धो भ्रातरी देवरूपिणौ,उन तीनों वीरोंका युद्ध अत्यन्त रोमांचकारी हुआ। इरावानने कुपित होकर देवताओंके समान रूपवान् दोनों भाई विन्द और अनुविन्दको झुकी हुई गाँठवाले तीखे बाणोंसे तुरंत घायल कर दिया। वे भी समरांगणमें विचित्र युद्ध करनेवाले थे। अतः उन्होंने भी इरावान्को बींध डाला

Sañjaya dit : «Entre ces guerriers s’engagea un combat d’une âpreté extrême, qui faisait se hérisser les cheveux. Irāvān, enflammé de colère, blessa aussitôt les deux frères Vindā et Anuvindā —beaux comme des dieux— de flèches acérées aux nœuds saillants. Mais les frères, experts en manœuvres merveilleuses sur le champ de bataille, percèrent Irāvān à leur tour.»
