स सम्प्रहारस्तुमुल: कटुक: शोणितोदक: । प्रावर्तत कुरूणां च पाण्डवानां च भारत,भारत! कौरवों और पाण्डवोंका वह भयानक युद्ध बड़ा ही कटु और रक्तको पानीकी तरह बहानेवाला था
sa samprahāras tumulaḥ kaṭukaḥ śoṇitodakaḥ | prāvartata kurūṇāṁ ca pāṇḍavānāṁ ca bhārata ||
Sañjaya dit : Ô Bharata, le choc entre les Kuru et les Pāṇḍava éclata dans une fureur effroyable—âpre et sans relâche—si bien que le sang coulait comme de l’eau.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical gravity of war: when relatives fight for power and resentment, the result is indiscriminate suffering—symbolized by blood flowing like water—warning that adharma-driven conflict consumes all sides.
Sanjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the battle between the Kaurava and Pandava forces has begun in a terrifying, chaotic manner, marked by intense close combat and heavy bloodshed.
