भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ७२: सैन्यगुणवर्णनम्, व्यूहरक्षा, दैव-पुरुषकारचिन्ता
इतरेतरमन्वीयुर्यथाभागमवस्थिता: । रथिनः पत्तयश्चैव दन्तिन: सादिनस्तथा,फिर यथाभाग खड़े हुए रथी, पैदल, हाथीसवार और घुड़सवार सब एक-दूसरेका अनुसरण करते हुए चल दिये
itaretaramanvīyur yathābhāgam avasthitāḥ | rathinaḥ pattayaś caiva dantinaḥ sādinās tathā ||
Sañjaya dit : Rangés selon leurs divisions, les guerriers de char, les fantassins, les cavaliers d’éléphant et les cavaliers de cheval avancèrent—les uns à la suite des autres, dans un ordre réglé. Ce mouvement reflétait la coordination disciplinée de la guerre, où le devoir s’accomplit par la structure et l’obéissance plutôt que par une violence irréfléchie.
