भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः
Bhīṣma checks Bhīmasena; matched engagements intensify
पादौ तव धरा देवी दिशो बाहू दिवं शिर: । मूर्तिस्ते5हं सुरा: कायश्नन्द्रादित्यौ च चक्षुषी,पृथ्वीदेवी आपके चरण हैं, दिशाएँ बाहु हैं और द्युलोक मस्तक है। मैं ब्रह्मा आपका शरीर, देवता अंग-प्रत्यंग और चन्द्रमा तथा सूर्य नेत्र हैं
pādau tava dharā devī diśo bāhū divaṁ śiraḥ | mūrtis te ’haṁ surāḥ kāyaś candrādityau ca cakṣuṣī ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô Seigneur ! La déesse Terre est Tes pieds ; les directions sont Tes bras ; et le ciel est Ta tête. Je suis Ta forme incarnée ; les dieux sont Tes membres et Tes articulations ; et la Lune et le Soleil sont Tes deux yeux.»
