तस्मिन् क्षणे सात्यकि: सत्यसंध: शिनिप्रवीरो5भ्यपतत् पितामहम् । निष्नन्नमित्रान् धनुषा दृढेन संकम्पयंस्तव पुत्रस्य सैन्यम्,उस समय शिनिवंशके प्रमुख वीर सत्यप्रतिज्ञ सात्यकि अपने सुदृढ़ धनुषसे शत्रुओंका संहार करते और आपके पुत्रकी सेनाको कँपाते हुए पितामह भीष्मपर चढ़ आये
tasmin kṣaṇe sātyakiḥ satyasaṃdhaḥ śinipravīro 'bhyapatat pitāmaham | niṣnann amitrān dhanuṣā dṛḍhena saṃkampayaṃs tava putrasya sainyam ||
À cet instant même, Sātyaki—fidèle à son vœu, le plus éminent héros de la lignée des Śini—se rua droit sur le Grandsire Bhīṣma. De son arc solide, il abattait les ennemis et, par son assaut, fit trembler l’armée de ton fils : on voit ainsi comment, dans l’ardeur de la guerre, la fermeté de la résolution et l’orgueil du lignage poussent les guerriers à défier même les aînés les plus révérés sur le champ de bataille.
