तस्य राजन्‌ सनिस्त्रिंशं सुप्रभं च शरावरम्‌ । हतस्य पततो हस्ताद्‌ वेगेन न्यपतद्‌ भुवि,राजन्‌! उसके मारे जानेपर शरीरसे चमकीला कवच और हाथसे तलवार उसके गिरनेके साथ ही वेगपूर्वक पृथ्वीपर गिरी

tasya rājan sanistriṁśaṁ suprabhaṁ ca śarāvaram | hatasya patato hastād vegena nyapatad bhuvi ||

Sañjaya dit : Ô Roi, lorsqu’il fut tué et qu’il tomba, son carquois éclatant et son épée au fourreau glissèrent de sa main et, avec force, chutèrent à terre. L’image souligne la terrible finalité du combat : quand la vie s’en va, même les emblèmes orgueilleux du guerrier—armes et armure—ne sont plus que des objets inertes, rappelant l’impermanence du pouvoir et le lourd prix de la violence.
