भीमसेनस्य प्रतिघातः—भगदत्तगजप्रहारः—घटोत्कचमायायुद्धम्

ततः प्रववृते युद्ध व्यतिषक्तरथद्धिपम्
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṁ vyatiṣakta-ratha-dvipam
Sañjaya dit : «Alors la bataille s’engagea véritablement : chars et éléphants de guerre s’entremêlèrent, s’agrippant dans un corps à corps confus. Le conflit monta jusqu’au combat à grande échelle, où l’ordre cède sous la pression et le poids moral de la guerre.»
