लक्ष्मणस्तव पौत्रस्तु सौभद्रं समवस्थितम् । अभ्यवर्तत संहृष्टस्ततो युद्धमवर्तत,तदनन्तर आपके पौजत्र लक्ष्मणने सुभद्राकुमार अभिमन्युको सामने खड़ा देख हर्ष और उत्साहमें भरकर उसपर आक्रमण किया। फिर तो दोनोंमें युद्ध आरम्भ हो गया
lakṣmaṇas tava pautras tu saubhadraṃ samavasthitam | abhyavartata saṃhṛṣṭas tato yuddham avartata ||
Sañjaya dit : Lakṣmaṇa, ton petit-fils, voyant Saubhadra (Abhimanyu), fils de Subhadrā, se tenir devant lui, s’avança avec exaltation et ardeur martiale. Alors s’engagea le combat entre eux deux.
