रथेभ्यक्ष गजेभ्यश्ष हयेभ्यश्व नराधिपा: । पतिता: पात्यमानाश्न दृश्यन्ते$र्जुनसायकै:,वहाँ बहुत-से नरेश अर्जुनके सायकोंसे कटकर रथों, हाथियों और घोड़ोंसे गिरे और गिराये जाते हुए दृष्टिगोचर हो रहे थे
rathebhyaḥ gajebhyaś ca hayebhyaś ca narādhipāḥ | patitāḥ pātyamānāś ca dṛśyante 'rjunasāyakaiḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : «Ô roi, on voit nombre de souverains tomber de leurs chars, de leurs éléphants et de leurs chevaux — et être abattus dans leur chute — transpercés par les flèches d’Arjuna.» La scène souligne l’élan implacable du combat, où la dignité royale n’offre aucun refuge contre les conséquences des armes et la résolution d’un guerrier.
