saṃprahṛṣṭamanā bhūtvā vadhe tasya mano dadhe | devadūtaka-kathitaṃ vacanaṃ śrutvā bhīṣmasya manaḥ prasannaṃ babhūva, śvetasya vadhaṃ cintayāmāsa ||
Sañjaya dit : Entendant ce message comme une sommation divine, l’esprit de Bhīṣma s’en trouva exalté. Le cœur résolu, il tourna sa pensée vers la mise à mort de Śveta—non par malveillance personnelle, mais comme une décision jugée nécessaire selon la rude éthique du champ de bataille.
संजय उवाच
