जगाम धरणीं बाणो महाशनिरिव ज्वलन् । उस समय देवताओं
sañjaya uvāca | jagāma dharaṇīṃ bāṇo mahāśanir iva jvalan |
Sañjaya dit : La flèche, flamboyante comme un foudre immense, s’enfonça dans la terre. En cet instant, même les dieux, les Gandharva, les Piśāca, les Nāga et les Rākṣasa la virent—comment elle s’embrasa tel un grand vajra et, après avoir percé l’armure et le cœur même de Śveta, d’une force sans mesure, elle disparut dans le sol. La scène souligne l’effroyable impartialité de la guerre : prouesse et protection peuvent être brisées en un instant, et jusqu’aux témoins célestes sont saisis par la puissance du destin et de la violence humaine sur le champ de bataille.
