ततः सैन्धवको राजा द्रुपदं॑ विशिखैस्त्रिभि: । ताडयामास समरे स च त॑ प्रत्यविध्यत,तत्पश्चात् सिन्धुराज जयद्रथने समरांगणमें तीन बाणोंद्वारा द्रपदको गहरी चोट पहुँचायी। ट्रुपदने भी बदलेमें उसे बींध डाला
tataḥ saindhavako rājā drupadaṁ viśikhaiḥ tribhiḥ | tāḍayāmāsa samare sa ca taṁ pratyavidhyata ||
Sañjaya dit : Alors le roi du Sindhu, Jayadratha, frappa Drupada au combat de trois flèches acérées. Drupada, en retour, le perça aussitôt.
संजय उवाच
The verse reflects kṣatriya-dharma in wartime: a warrior meets attack with steadfast courage and prompt counteraction, maintaining honor and resolve amid the chaos of battle.
Jayadratha, the Sindhu king, wounds Drupada with three arrows on the battlefield; Drupada immediately retaliates by piercing Jayadratha in return.
