सिद्धि प्राप्तो यथा ब्रह्म तथा55प्रोति निबोध मे । समासेनैव कौन्तेय निष्ठा ज्ञानस्य या परा
arjuna uvāca | siddhiṁ prāpto yathā brahma tathāpnoti nibodha me | samāsenaiva kaunteya niṣṭhā jñānasya yā parā ||
«Enseigne-moi clairement comment, après avoir atteint la perfection, l’homme parvient à Brahman. Ô fils de Kuntī, explique-moi brièvement cette suprême fermeté dans la connaissance—l’aboutissement le plus élevé de la voie de la sagesse—par laquelle on atteint l’état au-delà de l’action et l’on arrive à Brahman.»
अजुन उवाच
Arjuna asks for a concise explanation of the highest steadfastness in knowledge (jñāna-niṣṭhā) by which one attains spiritual perfection (siddhi) and thereby reaches Brahman—implying liberation through inner realization rather than mere external action.
In the midst of the Kurukṣetra setting, Arjuna turns to his teacher and requests a brief, practical account of the culminating discipline of wisdom: how a perfected person transcends binding action and attains Brahman.
