काममाश्रित्य दुष्पूरं दम्भभानमदान्विता: । मोहाद गृहीत्वासदग्राहान् प्रवर्तन्तेडशुचिव्रता:,वे दम्भ, मान और मदसे युक्त मनुष्य किसी प्रकार भी पूर्ण न होनेवाली कामनाओंका आश्रय लेकर, अज्ञानसे मिथ्या सिद्धान्तोंको ग्रहण करके और भ्रष्ट आचरणोंको धारण करकेः संसारमें विचरते हैं
kāmam āśritya duṣpūraṁ dambha-māna-madānvitāḥ | mohād gṛhītvā sad-agrāhān pravartante 'śuci-vratāḥ ||
Emplis d’hypocrisie, d’orgueil et d’ivresse de l’ego, ces hommes se réfugient dans des désirs qu’on ne peut jamais combler. Aveuglés par l’illusion, ils adoptent de fausses doctrines et, ayant embrassé des disciplines impures et des conduites corrompues, ils errent à travers le monde.
