भीष्मपतनविषये धृतराष्ट्रस्य प्रश्नाः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Questions on Bhīṣma’s Fall
शृणु मे विस्तरेणेदं विचित्र परमाद्भुतम् । भरतानामभूद् युद्ध यथा तल्लोमहर्षणम्
sañjaya uvāca | śṛṇu me vistareṇedaṃ vicitraṃ paramādbhutam | bharatānām abhūd yuddhaṃ yathā tal lomaharṣaṇam, rājan |
Sañjaya dit : Ô roi, écoute-moi en détail ce récit étrange et souverainement prodigieux : comment advint la guerre des Bhārata, si singulière et si saisissante qu’elle fait se hérisser les cheveux. Après m’être d’abord incliné devant le sage Vyāsa—fils de Parāśara—par la grâce duquel j’ai obtenu la connaissance divine et d’extraordinaires pouvoirs de perception, je commence maintenant à raconter cette guerre merveilleuse et bouleversante de la lignée Bharata, telle qu’elle s’est déroulée.
