निपातयत गृह्नीत युध्यध्वमवकृन्तत । इत्यासीत् तुमुलः शब्दो राजन् भीष्मरथं प्रति,राजन्! उस समय भीष्मके रथके समीप “मार गिराओ, पकड़ लो, युद्ध करो, टुकड़े- टुकड़े कर डालो” इत्यादि भयंकर शब्द गूँज रहे थे
nipātayata gṛhṇīta yudhyadhvam avakṛntata | ity āsīt tumulaḥ śabdo rājan bhīṣma-rathaṃ prati ||
Sañjaya dit : « Abattez-le ! Saisissez-le ! Combattez ! Mettez-le en pièces ! »—de tels cris, tumultueux et terrifiants, retentissaient, ô Roi, autour du char de Bhīṣma.
