समन्ततश्न दृश्यन्ते पतिता धरणीतले । बाणोंकी वेदनासे आतुर हो पताकाओंसहित बड़े-बड़े हाथी चारों दिशाओंमें चक्कर काट रहे थे। नरेन्द्र! गदा, शक्ति और धनुष धारण किये हुए बहुत-से क्षत्रिय सब ओर पृथ्वीपर पड़े दृष्टिगोचर हो रहे थे || ६१ है ।।

Transliteration

samantataś ca dṛśyante patitā dharaṇītale |

Translation

Sañjaya dit : De tous côtés, on voyait des guerriers tombés à terre. Le champ de bataille était jonché des corps de nombreux kṣatriya—rois et combattants portant massues, lances et arcs—révélant le prix terrible de la colère et de la rivalité lorsque le dharma est éclipsé par l’obsession de vaincre.
