तत्रासीत् सुमहद् युद्ध कुरूणां पाण्डवैः: सह । भीष्महेतोर्नरिव्याप्र श्येनयोरामिषे यथा
Transliteration
tatrāsīt sumahad yuddhaṁ kurūṇāṁ pāṇḍavaiḥ saha | bhīṣma-hetoḥ naravyāghra śyenayor āmiṣe yathā ||
Translation
Sañjaya dit : Là s’éleva une très grande bataille entre les Kurus et les Pāṇḍavas. Ô tigre parmi les hommes, on se battait pour Bhīṣma — comme deux faucons se disputant un morceau de chair. La comparaison souligne combien l’attachement à un seul but, tenu pour précieux, peut attiser la violence et éclipser le discernement dans la guerre.
