Adhyāya 112: Bhīṣma-prati Arjunasya Pravṛttiḥ
Arjuna’s Forward Drive Toward Bhīṣma
निघ्नतः समरे शत्रूज्शरै: संनतपर्वभि: । संजयने कहा--भरतश्रेष्ठ! संग्राममें युद्ध करते समय भीष्मके न तो धनुषके ही टुकड़े-टुकड़े हुए थे और न उनका रथ ही टूटा था। वे समरभूमिमें झुकी हुई गाँठवाले बाणोंद्वारा शत्रुओंका संहार करते जा रहे थे ।।

nighnataḥ samare śatrūñ śaraiḥ saṃnataparvabhiḥ |
Sañjaya dit : «Ô le meilleur des Bhārata, dans l’âpreté du combat, l’arc de Bhīṣma ne se brisa point, et son char ne fut pas non plus mis en pièces. Sur le champ de bataille, il continua d’abattre les ennemis, les tuant de flèches aux jointures recourbées, ferme et inébranlable, poussant la guerre en avant sous la loi implacable des armes.»
