भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः
Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
नतु त्वामनृतं कर्तुमुत्सहे स्वात्मगौरवात् । अयुध्यमान: साहाय्यं यथोक्त कुरु माधव,माधव! परंतु मैं अपनी गुरुताका प्रभाव डालकर आपको असत्यवादी नहीं बना सकता। आप युद्ध किये बिना ही पूर्वोक्त सहायता करते रहिये
na tu tvām anṛtaṁ kartum utsahe svātma-gauravāt | ayudhyamānaḥ sāhāyyaṁ yathoktaṁ kuru mādhava ||
«Mais je ne puis me résoudre à te faire proférer un mensonge, par égard pour ton propre honneur. Sans prendre les armes, ô Mādhava, continue d’accorder l’aide que tu as déjà promise.»
