ध्येयात्मना हरिष्यामि यज्ञानेतान् यतव्रत: । “यदि इन्द्र बारह वर्षोतक वर्षा नहीं करेंगे तो मैं व्रत-नियमोंका पालन करता हुआ ध्यानद्वारा ध्येयरूपसे स्थित हो इन यज्ञोंका अनुष्ठान करूँगा
dhyeyātmanā hariṣyāmi yajñān etān yatavrataḥ | yadi indraḥ dvādaśa-varṣāntakaṁ varṣāṁ na kariṣyati, tato ’haṁ vrata-niyamān pālayan dhyānena dhyeya-rūpeṇa sthitaḥ san etān yajñān anuṣṭhāsyāmi ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «L’esprit fixé sur l’objet de la méditation, et ferme dans mes vœux, je mènerai ces sacrifices à leur terme. Si Indra n’envoie pas la pluie durant douze ans, je garderai mes disciplines, demeurerai établi en concentration, et j’accomplirai pourtant ces rites.»
