Completion of the Aśvamedha
वैशम्पायन उवाच यज्ञस्य विधिमग्र्यं वै फलं चापि नराधिप । गदत: शृणु मे राजन् यथावदिह भारत,वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--नरेश्वर! भरतनन्दन! मैं यज्ञकी श्रेष्ठ विधि और फलका यहाँ यथावत् वर्णन करता हूँ, तुम मेरा कथन सुनो
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: yajñasya vidhim agryaṃ vai phalaṃ cāpi narādhipa | gadataḥ śṛṇu me rājan yathāvad iha bhārata ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Ô seigneur des hommes, ô roi de la lignée des Bhārata, écoute mes paroles. Ici, j’exposerai, dans l’ordre qui convient, la plus haute règle du sacrifice et les fruits qu’il confère, afin que tu comprennes comment l’acte juste porte le résultat qui lui est propre.»
