Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
इन्द्र वाच सर्वान् कामाननुयातो<सि वित्र यस्त्वं देवानां मन्त्रवित्सुपुरोधा: । उभौ च ते जरामृत्यू व्यतीतौ कि संवर्तस्तव कर्ताद्य विप्र
indra uvāca—sarvān kāmān anuyāto ’si, vipra; yas tvaṃ devānāṃ mantravit supurodhāḥ | ubhau ca te jarāmṛtyū vyatītau; kiṃ saṃvartas tava kartādya, vipra ||
Indra dit : «Ô brahmane, tu as obtenu toutes les jouissances désirées, car tu es le prêtre savant des dieux, connaisseur des mantras sacrés. Tu as même dépassé la vieillesse et la mort. Que pourrait donc te faire Saṁvarta à présent, ô brahmane ?»
