Aśvamedha-saṃbhāra: Return of the Horse, Auspicious Timing, and Construction of the Yajña Enclosure
इदमन्यच्च कौन्तेय वच: स पुरुषोडब्रवीत् | धनंजयस्य नृपते तन््मे निगदत: शूणु
idam anyac ca kaunteya vacaḥ sa puruṣo ’bravīt | dhanañjayasya nṛpate tan me nigadataḥ śṛṇu ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : « Ô fils de Kuntī, cet homme prononça encore une autre parole. Ô roi, écoute de ma bouche tandis que je la rapporte : ce point supplémentaire transmis au sujet de Dhanañjaya (Arjuna). »
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical importance of faithful transmission: the narrator carefully distinguishes an “additional statement” and asks the king to listen attentively, underscoring responsibility in reporting what was said about Arjuna.
Vaiśampāyana continues his account to King Yudhiṣṭhira, introducing that a certain man reported one more point connected with Arjuna (Dhanañjaya), and he now proceeds to relay it.
