Ulūpī’s Disclosure and the Saṃjīvana-Maṇi: Arjuna’s Restoration (उलूपी-प्रकटनं संजीवनमणि-स्थापनं च)
न जनित्री तथास्येयं मम या प्रेष्यवत् स्थिता । श्रूयतां यद् यथा चेदं मया सर्व विचेष्टितम्
na janitrī tathāsyeyaṁ mama yā preṣyavat sthitā | śrūyatāṁ yad yathā cedaṁ mayā sarva viceṣṭitam ||
Arjuna dit : «Cette femme —bien qu’elle soit ma mère— n’est pas de cette sorte ; elle demeure sous ma direction comme une servante. Écoutez donc ce que j’ai fait ici et comment j’ai agi en toutes choses.»
अर्जुन उवाच
The verse emphasizes accountability and truthful narration: when blame or suspicion arises, one should clarify facts and one’s conduct directly, while also framing relationships in terms of duty and rightful authority.
Arjuna begins to explain the situation and his own actions, asserting that the woman referred to as his mother is not acting independently but remains under his direction, and he asks the listeners to hear the full account of what he did and how.
