Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra
शिरांसि पातयामास भल्लै: संनतपर्वभि: । साथ ही विजयकी अभिलाषा लेकर आक्रमण करनेवाले उन सैन्धव योद्धाओंके मस्तकोंको वे झुकी हुई गाँठवाले भल्लोंद्वारा काट-काटकर गिराने लगे
śirāṃsi pātayāmāsa bhallaiḥ saṃnataparvabhiḥ |
Vaiśampāyana dit : Avec des flèches bhalla barbelées, aux jointures recourbées, il fit tomber des têtes—tranchant, l’une après l’autre, celles des guerriers saindhavas qui s’étaient rués, avides de victoire. Le passage souligne l’élan funeste du combat : l’ambition du triomphe se heurte à la violence prompte et décisive d’un guerrier accompli.
