Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
हृष्टानां सिंहनादेन जनानां तत्र नि:स्वन: | प्रविश्य प्रदिश: सर्वा: पुनरेव व्युपारमत्
hṛṣṭānāṃ siṃhanādena janānāṃ tatra niḥsvanaḥ | praviśya pradiśaḥ sarvāḥ punar eva vyupāramat ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Des clameurs, pareilles au rugissement du lion, que poussaient les gens ivres de joie, s’éleva un grand tumulte. Il se répandit dans toutes les directions puis, de nouveau, retomba dans le calme.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the power of collective joy and its proper containment: celebration can surge and fill the world, yet it should naturally settle back into calm, reflecting social balance and self-restraint even in happiness.
On hearing auspicious news (contextually, the report of a son's birth), the gathered people roar in triumph; the resulting clamor spreads through all quarters and then gradually quiets down.
