Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva (परिक्षिज्जन्मसंकटं कुन्त्याः प्रार्थना च)

प्रीतिमान्‌ स कुरुश्रेष्ठ खानयामास तद्‌ धनम्‌ | वहाँ उन्होंने नाना प्रकारके विचित्र फूल

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | prītimān sa kuruśreṣṭhaḥ khānayāmāsa tad dhanam |

Vaiśampāyana dit : Le cœur plein de joie, le meilleur des Kuru fit mettre au jour ce trésor. En ce lieu, Yudhiṣṭhira n’aborda pas la richesse par avidité, mais avec révérence : il adora Kubera, seigneur des biens, par des fleurs diverses et merveilleuses, par des malpūā et du khichṛī, et par d’autres offrandes, puis il se prosterna en signe d’hommage. Ensuite, avec ces mêmes objets, il vénéra les trésors—tels Śaṅkha et les autres—ainsi que tous les gardiens des dépôts, et il honora les brāhmaṇas éminents. Puis il fit prononcer le svasti-vācana (bénédiction propice) ; et, au cri de puṇyāha proclamé par les brāhmaṇas, le puissant roi Yudhiṣṭhira, éclatant parmi les Kuru, entreprit avec une grande allégresse de faire exhumer ce trésor.
