Chapter 6
भगवन् यन्मया पूर्वमभिगम्य तपोधन । कृतो$भिसंधिर्यज्ञस्य भवतो वचनाद् गुरो,“भगवन्! तपोधन! गुरुदेव! मैंने पहले एक बार आकर जो आपसे यज्ञके विषयमें सलाह ली थी और आपने जिसके लिये मुझे आज्ञा दी थी, उस यज्ञको अब मैं प्रारम्भ करना चाहता हूँ। आपके कथनानुसार मैंने सब सामग्री एकत्र कर ली है। साधु पुरुष! मैं आपका पुराना यजमान भी हूँ। इसलिये चलिये, मेरा यज्ञ करा दीजिये”
bhagavan yanmayā pūrvam abhigamya tapodhana | kṛto ’bhisaṃdhir yajñasya bhavato vacanād guro ||
Vyāsa dit : «Vénérable, ascète riche en austérités, ô maître ! Jadis je suis venu à toi, et, suivant ta parole de guru, j’ai arrêté ma résolution au sujet de ce yajña. À présent je veux commencer ce même sacrifice. Selon ton ordre, j’ai rassemblé tout ce qui est requis. Homme de bien, je suis depuis longtemps ton yajamāna (le patron du rite) ; viens donc et officie mon sacrifice.»
