Marutta Seeks a Priest: Bṛhaspati’s Refusal and Nārada’s Guidance to Saṃvarta
Chapter 6
तस्या द्वारं समासाद्य न्यसेथा: कुणपं क्वचित् | त॑ दृष्टवा यो निवर्तेत संवर्त: स महीपते
tasyā dvāraṃ samāsādya nyasethāḥ kuṇapaṃ kvacit | taṃ dṛṣṭvā yo nivarteta saṃvartaḥ sa mahīpate |
Nārada dit : «Va jusqu’à la porte de cette cité et, quelque part là, dépose un cadavre. Ô seigneur de la terre ! Celui qui, en voyant ce cadavre, se détourne aussitôt et rebrousse chemin—sache que c’est Saṃvarta. Puis suis ce sage puissant partout où il ira. Lorsqu’il parviendra en un lieu retiré, approche-toi les mains jointes et demande refuge.»
