Educational Q&A

A ruler committed to dharma maintains sacred obligations with firmness; even when obstacles arise due to others' vows or refusals, one should respond with principled resolve rather than abandoning righteous duty.

Vyāsa narrates that King Marutta learns of a pledge made by Bṛhaspati (descendant of Aṅgiras) connected with Indra, and in response Marutta initiates/arranges a very great sacrifice.
