अभ्यगच्छन् महात्मानं देवा इव शतक्रतुम् । जैसे देवता देवराज इन्द्रकी अगवानी करते हैं, उसी प्रकार भोज, वृष्णि और अन्धकवंशके यादवोंने अपने निकट आते हुए महात्मा श्रीकृष्णका आगे बढ़कर स्वागत किया
abhyagacchan mahātmānaṃ devā iva śatakratum |
Vaiśampāyana dit : Les Yādavas des lignées Bhoja, Vṛṣṇi et Andhaka s’avancèrent à la rencontre du magnanime Śrī Kṛṣṇa qui approchait, l’accueillant comme les dieux accueilleraient Śatakratu (Indra).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic social ideal: honoring excellence and virtue through active reception and respectful welcome. Recognizing greatness is expressed not merely in words but in conduct—going forward to meet and receive the noble.
As Śrī Kṛṣṇa approaches, the Yādavas—specifically those of the Bhoja, Vṛṣṇi, and Andhaka groups—advance to greet him, likened to the gods welcoming Indra (Śatakratu).
