Chapter 57
As a concluding colophon, the verse itself teaches indirectly by framing the Uttanka episode as a completed moral unit: it highlights dharma through disciplined obedience (especially to one’s teacher), vigilance against deception, and the ethical weight of actions undertaken to fulfill a duty.
This is the formal end-of-chapter statement: it announces that the fifty-sixth chapter—focused on the taking/removal of the earrings within the Uttanka legend—has concluded, and it locates the episode within the Anugītā section of the Aśvamedhika Parva.
