मानुष्ये वर्तमाने तु कृपणं याचिता मया । न च ते जातसम्मोहा वचो<गृह्नन्त मे हितम्‌

Transliteration

mānuṣye vartamāne tu kṛpaṇaṃ yācitā mayā | na ca te jātasammoḥā vaco gṛhṇanti me hitam ||

Translation

«Puisque je me trouve à présent dans la condition humaine, je n’ai pas employé ma puissance divine contre les Kauravas ; au contraire, j’ai d’abord supplié humblement qu’on parvînt à un accord. Mais eux, tombés dans l’illusion, n’ont pas accueilli mes paroles prononcées pour leur bien.»
