कच्चिच्छौरे त्वया गत्वा कुरुपाण्डवसझ तत् | कृतं॑ सौश्रात्रमचलं तन्मे व्याख्यातुमहसि
kaccic chauri tvayā gatvā kuru-pāṇḍava-saṅghaṁ tat | kṛtaṁ sauśrātram acalaṁ tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : « Ô Śauri, après t’être rendu à cette assemblée des Kurus et des Pāṇḍavas, as-tu réussi à établir entre eux un lien de fraternité ferme et inébranlable ? Je t’en prie, explique-le-moi en détail. »
