Maintain austere, non-showy conduct: seek shelter only as needed, avoid lingering in villages for comfort or reputation (especially in summer), and adopt stable residence during the rains to support disciplined practice.
Vāyudeva is instructing on proper ascetic/ethical living—where to take refuge for the night and how long to remain in inhabited places—framing seasonal guidelines for a restrained, unobtrusive life.
