तमोगुण-निरूपण
Analysis of Tamas and its Marks
अन्यथा प्रतिपन्नास्ते विबुद्धा: स्वेषु कर्मसु । पुनरावृत्तिधर्माणस्ते भवन्तीह मानुषा:
anyathā pratipannās te vibuddhāḥ sveṣu karmasu | punarāvṛttidharmāṇas te bhavantīha mānuṣāḥ ||
Mais ceux qui ont suivi une autre voie—bien qu’avisés dans leurs devoirs rituels et mondains—demeurent soumis à la loi du retour. Ainsi, après avoir goûté à des états plus élevés, ils reviennent encore, et ici, dans le monde des mortels, redeviennent humains.
वायुदेव उवाच
Even if one is competent and discerning in performing one’s duties and rituals, if the orientation is toward desired results, one remains bound to punarāvṛtti (return/rebirth). Higher attainments are not final liberation; the cycle continues until attachment is transcended.
Vāyudeva explains a doctrinal point: certain people follow an alternative course and, though knowledgeable in their actions, are characterized by return. After experiencing higher realms, they come back and take human birth again in this world.
