Educational Q&A

When adharma grows strong and the virtuous are harmed, a ruler must act decisively to protect the righteous and re-establish moral and social order; political power is portrayed as a duty-bearing instrument for dharma, not mere privilege.

A brahmin narrator describes a time of moral decline: vices have intensified and good people are being oppressed. In response, the famed King Ambarīṣa quickly takes control of the kingdom, implying an assertive assumption of rule to counter disorder.
