अध्वर्यु–यति संवादः
Adhvaryu–Yati Dialogue on Svabhāva, Ahiṃsā, and Mokṣa
इन्धनस्य तु तुल्येन शरीरेण विचेतसा । हिंसानिर्वेष्टकामानामिन्धनं पशुसंज्ञितम्
indhanasya tu tulyena śarīreṇa vicetasā | hiṃsā-nirveṣṭa-kāmānām indhanaṃ paśu-saṃjñitam ||
Ce corps, privé de sens et d’esprit, ne diffère en rien d’un simple combustible. Ainsi, pour ceux qui veulent accomplir le sacrifice comme expiation de la violence, c’est le combustible lui-même qui doit être tenu pour « l’animal »; si le rite peut s’accomplir avec du bois, pourquoi donc tuer des êtres vivants?
